Monte Bondone Hikes.
The hikes on Monte Bondone offer breathtaking views of the Adige Valley and the Dolomites, with routes suitable for everyone: from via ferratas for experts on the iconic Tre Cime, to relaxing walks through the Viote meadows.

Montesel – “Panchina gigante”
Starting directly from Vason, the hike to Montesel becomes a very short, simple walk suitable for everyone, almost entirely downhill or flat (the previous description contained an error by mentioning Dos d’Abramo, which is located somewhere completely different!). The trail runs alongside the ski slopes and woods until it reaches the panoramic Cima Montesel at 1,726 meters. Here, you will find the large larch wood installation from which you can admire the Adige Valley and the city of Trento from above.

Dos de la Cros
Starting from Vason, the route to Dos de la Cros initially develops slightly downhill towards Norge and then connects to the flat path through the woods. It is a pleasant walk that requires very little elevation effort compared to starting from below. The real reward is at the end of the trail: once you reach the large metal cross on Dos de la Cros, the forest opens up into a spectacular panoramic balcony overlooking the Adige Valley.

Cima Palon – “Sentiero dei mughi”
The “Sentiero dei Mughi” winds through dense mountain pines with a zig-zag pattern that makes the climb steady. Along the way, you pass old World War I trenches, while the panorama opens up as you approach the top. The final destination offers a spectacular 360-degree terrace over the Brenta Dolomites, the Adige Valley, and Trento.

Malga Brigolina
The walk to Malga Brigolina starting from Vason is a long, relaxing, entirely downhill itinerary through the dense forests of the northern slope, passing through Norge first. You reach the wide green clearings of the alpine pasture (once also known for its dairy production). It is a perfect route for families on the way there, but keep in mind that the return journey will be entirely uphill and will require significantly more effort.

Vason – Viote
The trail from Vason descends towards the beautiful Viote basin. The path initially develops alongside the ski slopes and nearby woods, then opens up onto the Viote plain, famous for its peat bog and alpine botanical garden. It is a pleasant walk, excellent as a connection between the two main localities of Bondone.

Viote – “ex Malga Albi”
The Viote – ex Malga Albi loop is a classic hike that connects the high-altitude pastures to the woods on the southern slope of Bondone. Starting from Viote (1,565 m), the trail descends steadily into the forest until it reaches the meadow basin of the former Malga Albi (1,264 m). For the return, the SAT 630 trail climbs back up along the eastern ridges beneath the walls of Cima Verde, passing through sections of mountain pine and old military paths before emerging once again into the Viote plain.

Giro delle tre cime
A loop itinerary that links the three main peaks (Cornetto, Dos d’Abramo, and Cima Verde), starting from the Viote basin. It offers a spectacular 360° view that ranges from the Brenta Dolomites to the Adige Valley, all the way to Lake Garda.
It is a medium-level trek that requires good fitness. The passage over Dos d’Abramo features a short equipped section (metal cable), which can also be bypassed by avoiding the peak for those who prefer an easier trail.

Bocca dei Vaioni
The short walk leading to Bocca dei Vaioni crosses the entire area of the Viote biotope on Monte Bondone. This splendid place reveals itself as an exceptional panoramic viewpoint: to the north you can admire the entire Brenta Dolomites group, to the west the Carè Alto group with its three main peaks, and to the south the entire ridge that leads from Cima Cornetto, part of the Tre Cime del Bondone, to Monte Stivo towards Lake Garda in the Valle dei Laghi, while to the east you will find the Palon.

La Rosta
The Viote – La Rosta – Viote loop itinerary is a wonderful hike, considered one of the best (easier and more relaxing) alternatives to the classic and more demanding Giro delle Tre Cime.
The route starts from the Viote basin (near the Capanna Viote/Cross-Country Ski Centre), crosses the pastures following the SAT 607 and 618 trails, and then climbs up to Bocca di Vaiona (1,700 m). From there, it follows the scenic grassy ridge up to the summit of La Rosta (1,832 m), finally returning to Viote and completing the loop through woods and meadows.
